15 November 2011: Equanet Achieves Highest European HP Accreditation

Jamie Marshall, Equanet’s Head of IT solutions, has achieved HP’s newest and highest accreditation, the Premier Certification in Converged Infrastructure. He becomes one of only four people to hold this qualification in Europe and one of two in the UK.

I am incredibly proud of this accreditation from HP. The process was rigorous, challenging and very rewarding. It is always satisfying to have your knowledge and abilities recognised within the industry and I am very excited about using the skills from this to create highly integrated and dynamic technology environments for Equanet’s customers.

Jamie Marshall, Head of IT Solutions.

Jamie MarshallHP’s new ExpertONE scheme entails an extensive training process and examination and requires an individual to prove they have extensive knowledge, skills, and experience to design, operate, manage, and build a strong business case for a Converged Infrastructure data center solution specific to each customer. Achieving the prestigious accreditation means Marshall is now an HP Master Accredited Systems Engineer – Converged Infrastructure Architect (MASE-CIA). The certificate is very difficult to achieve, of the nine people who entered the process, only four received the award; two in the UK, one in France and one in Germany. The accreditation reflects a mastery of exceptional technical skill along with an understanding of the business and IT issues currently faced by customers today.

Phil Birbeck, managing director at Equanet, commented, “Since his arrival, Marshall has been a real asset to our business, and by holding this prestigious accreditation, our clients will benefit further from his skills, knowledge and experience.”

Enterprises worldwide are shifting from separate IT silos to a unified IT infrastructure-one that integrates servers, storage, network, and management into a single IT fabric. Highly skilled personnel who can realise this vision are in great demand worldwide. CIOs report that the lack of skilled staff is the greatest obstacle to adopting converged solutions. Equanet's Jaime Marshall is now one of the few select individuals worldwide that have proven he has mastery of unifying IT components and also has a keen business mind to engineer integrated solutions that generate high business impact and ROI to enterprise customers.

This is the first year that HP has introduced its ExpertONE scheme. A HP spokesperson commented, “Obtaining this certification is a great achievement for Jamie Marshall of Equanet. Through becoming a certified HP Master ASE – Converged Infrastructure Architect, Marshall is in a position to lead tomorrow’s data transformations. It is also a demonstration of Equanet’s ability to provide a leading IT solutions service that delivers a deep and broad spectrum to enhance business IT infrastructures in a way that generates less costs and more returns on investment.”

Marshall will be continuing his work at Equanet to increase the company’s profile as a technology solutions provider and to develop new services to bring to market. He is currently responsible for Equanet’s solutions business including its offering in education and public sector.
