26 January 2011: EQUANET APPOINTS KEVIN COOK AS FINANCE MANAGER

Equanet, provider of IT solutions to business, has appointed Kevin Cook as Finance Manager.  This promotion is part of the company’s expansion strategy which includes the appointment of a number of senior members of staff, including the recent hires of Peter Ratcliffe as Head of IT and Jamie Marshall as Head of IT Solutions.

In his new role, he will report directly to Equanet’s managing director Phil Birbeck and will be responsible for managing the company’s finances as well as integrating finance into the wider business.

“The role comes with two important challenges for me to tackle in the short term”, Cook explained. “The first is to integrate finance into the whole of the business – I want all Equanet staff to have a good understanding of the finance function. The second is to ensure that all staff really understand our customers so that we can provide maximum value to our clients.”

Phil Birbeck, managing director at Equanet, commented: “Kevin’s appointment is a sign of our continuing confidence in him – in the past five years, he has exceeded expectations and we look forward to seeing the effect of his new role on the business. Equanet has made a number of senior hires for 2011, and we will be going to great lengths to make sure that the year ahead a successful one.”

Cook’s appointment comes as part of Equanet’s growth and transformation plan, which aims to expand the business through customer service and the development of new and innovative IT solutions.
