Equanet Announces Partnership With Airwatch

4 October 2011: New partnership to facilitate the integration of iPads and other mobile devices into UK businesses

The partnership between Equanet and AirWatch demonstrates our strong commitment to innovation, a passion for placing the most cutting edge and exciting technology within businesses and a dedication to constantly improving the quality rather than the cost of the service we offer. AirWatch MDM technology puts mobile and tablet devices into the hands of businesses with the guarantee and comfort of security and seamless integration.

Phil Birbeck, Managing Director of DSGi Business.

Equanet, provider of IT solutions to business, today announced a new partnership with AirWatch, the Atlanta, USA-based wireless and mobility solutions company. The partnership gives Equanet an agreement to integrate AirWatch’s mobile device management (MDM) technology into an innovative solution offering to provide bespoke and secure tablet applications to its UK-wide customer base.

Bespoke Solutions

AirWatch AirWatch provides bespoke solutions for businesses to securely integrate mobile and tablet devices into their networks. Equanet will be using AirWatch MDM technology to meet its customers’ demands and to widen its portfolio of IT and mobility services. AirWatch’s system allows greater security and ease of management for the migration of tablets and mobile devices in order to improve productivity, especially amongst mobile workforces.  Another important feature is the ability to remotely wipe mobile devices of all data event they are lost or stolen.

AirWatch will also work with Equanet to develop an Enterprise Application Store that will securely deliver both custom built applications and recommended ones from within the iTunes site.

Incentives and Benefits

The relationship will also bring benefits to those organisations looking to adopt Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) initiatives. As tablets and mobile devices offer both personal and business benefits, Equanet and AirWatch will be developing incentive and alternative schemes to co-own hardware. This promotes better care for equipment and recognises the dual positioning of devices that have the capacity to store an employee’s business work as well as his entire record collection.

Phil Birbeck adds, “The delivery of BYOC schemes is gaining momentum across enterprises and is both a technical and business project. Tablets have become viral within the enterprise and need to be both welcomed and supported. It is imperative that customers work with a partner that understands the Business and Technical implications of BYOC to ensure a faster time to value.  Equanet will be delivering MDM through a combination of on premise and SaaS models providing a cost effective and flexible deployment model.”

The collaboration with Equanet shows a determined effort by both companies to stay at the forefront of tablet and mobile device integration and to remain at the cutting edge of the emerging popularity of cloud platforms.
